Project InsiSt completed

IThe ‘InsiSt’ project, funded by the State of Bremen as part of the State Programme for the Promotion of Research, Development and Innovation (FEI) of the Senator for Economic Affairs, Labour and Europe of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, was completed this month. The aim of this project was to prove that the method for in-situ measurements of thermal conductivites improved by FIELAX is comparable to the established standard according to ASTM D5334. To this end, experiments were carried out in which so-called needle probes were inserted into the same undisturbed sample as the sensor string used by FIELAX. The measurements were carried out in different materials: 1. in water-saturated sand and 2. in water “stiffened” with gelatine.
The results are currently being prepared for publication.
